TIPOGRAFÍA MANUAL: Cuando el presente revive el pasado (8-2-12)
Video excelente y elegante!!![...] Era su primer tutorial. Y ese debut implicaba para la pareja “un reto interesante”. Sobre todo, “porque era difícil encontrar un equilibrio entre un vídeo instructor y un estilo nuevo, actual, que mostrase lo divertido que resulta trabajar con una máquina extremadamente analógica”.
Loss y Tönjes cogieron una Canon 7D y prepararon una “iluminación básica” en el taller. Grabaron durante dos días. “Roman creó la música en un MPC1000 y después fue añadida a la pieza, de forma rítmica, junto con algunos sonidos reales de la máquina recogidos allí”, añade Loss.
El presente revivió el pasado. Y, además, lo digitalizó. [...]

Quizá hemos de volver al cine mudo de Chaplin, la universalidad del personaje de Charlot y redefinir la importancia del cine en el desarrollo de la sensibilidad contemporánea utilizando la tecnología que tenemos a nuestro alcance.
La universalidad de Charlot me recuerda a algo… será a la universalidad de la red?

HOUSE OF CARDS (Radiohead) (22-7-08)
Tema escogido (banda sonora) del inolvidable Crosstalent IV. “Los barcos se sienten seguros en puerto; pero los barcos no se ha hecho para eso”.
In Radiohead’s new video for “House of Cards”, no cameras or lights were used. Instead, 3D plotting technologies collected information about the shapes and relative distances of objects. The video was created entirely with visualizations of that data.

DV8′s work is about taking risks. It is about personal politics, about breaking down barriers between dance and theatre, and above all, about communicating ideas and feelings clearly and unpretentiously. The company tells stories through extended naturalistic movement in a radical yet accessible way, shunning linear narrative and rejecting the traditional conventions of ballet and modern dance. It also challenges notion of dance by demonstrating how expansive and individual the medium can be. This is the trailer for their 35 minute film “The Cost of Living.”
